I didn’t quite have the perfect week, but it was pretty close. The playoff picture is beginning to take shape, and somehow, the Chicago Bears are leading their division. I’ve been steadily improving with my suggestions, and with the fantasy playoffs fast approaching, I am hoping this is the week I go a perfect 6 for 6.
Last Week’s Results
Treveyon Henderson delivered a monster performance with three touchdowns on his way to 30 fantasy points. Tua Tagovailoa played a clean game with no turnovers, but he did nothing special and only put up 7 points. Colston Loveland caught three of his four targets for 40 yards and finished with 7 points.
The sit recommendations were even better. Tez Johnson produced just 1.6 points after catching one of his three targets. Luke Musgrave had an even rougher outing, catching one pass for minus one yard and finishing with 0.9 points. David Montgomery was held to minimal gains all night and posted 4 points.
Start Em
Aaron Jones, RB, Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota is coming off a tough loss to the Bears and now gets another divisional matchup with the Packers. Jones has posted three straight double-digit fantasy outings while playing 67% of the snaps. The Packers just allowed Tyrone Tracy to rush for 88 yards, so Jones is in a great spot.
Mack Hollins, WR, New England Patriots
Hollins has become one of Drake Maye’s favorite and most trusted targets. His reliability is showing up in the numbers, and his usage has been trending upward. He has not scored since Week 4 against Carolina, but he is overdue. With Cincinnati having one of the worst secondaries in football, this matchup sets up beautifully.
Ricky Pearsall, WR, San Francisco 49ers
Pearsall only caught one pass last week against Arizona, but the 49ers did not need him with McCaffrey and Kittle doing all the damage. With Brock Purdy returning, the offense should be back to its normal rhythm, and Pearsall’s role will increase. I expect him to have a strong game this week.
Sit Em
Michael Pittman, WR, Indianapolis Colts
Pittman managed only three points on two catches last week against Atlanta, despite having an excellent season overall. This week he draws Kansas City, and Trent McDuffie will likely shadow him. That should force the Colts to lean on their secondary options, leaving Pittman with a second straight quiet outing.
Luther Burden III, WR, Chicago Bears
Burden has all the traits to be a future star, but he just is not there yet. Ben Johnson clearly believes in him, as his target share continues to rise, but he still needs more time before the breakout comes. This week is not the week to trust him.
JJ McCarthy, QB, Minnesota Vikings
McCarthy has only five starts under his belt, and none of them have been particularly good. He led Minnesota to a win over Detroit, but his numbers continue to disappoint. He has thrown two interceptions in back-to-back games and has completed less than half of his passes in both. He has a good supporting cast and could improve, but right now, he is too risky to start.
